It's been a while since I homebirthed my youngest, in fact, almost 10 years but I love to keep my toes in the homebirthing world. I love to read the stories behind the births and the reasons why a family would choose a direction that so few in this country do.
Hollie & Tristan were one of those families. Hollie's sister is a midwife and they felt it was a natural direction and choice to make for their family. Initially they were going to birth at The Birth House in geelong, a midwifery led program that offers a homebirth setting in a house nearby to the local public hospital. It's a fantastic option if you live far from the hospital or maybe have some fears that keep you from choosing either hospital or home.
Their house had been in the making for around 2 years and amazingly ended up being finished and ready to move in only weeks before Wren made an appearance. Because of this, they made the decision to go ahead with a homebirth in their new beautiful home. I have to say, its one of my favorite things to be able to relate to my clients in this way during a session and we made sure we covered all our bases, swapping experiences and thoughts on it all.
Thankyou again, Hollie & Tristan for allowing me to share your beautiful family and amazing home.
