Family Sessions
with Bella Arte Photography
Whether you are planning a family session at home or on location, you can expect a full gallery highlighting your family’s unique personality, your time engaging together and a few gorgeous portraits to boot, giving you the full picture of this time in your life right now.
Family sessions are usually around 60 minutes, held at home or on location. Maybe you have a special place around Geelong or the surfcoast that you like to frequent together? I have held family sessions in parks, homes, cafe’s, the beach, front and back gardens and in the studio. It’s totally up to you!
The number one most imortant decision when considering your family session is the light and time of day. Consider having your session early (very early if you are game!) or late in the day. Having a family session close to mid day when the sun is high can be tricky to navigate when you have young children. It’s doable yes, with lots of shade however, the warm glow and soft lighting you see in many images throughout my portfolio is due to the time of the photoshoot.
The Experience
Family sessions are a balanced mix of documenting who you all are at this time in your lives and a variety of portraits with the various relationships within your family. Each parent with each child, parents together, siblings together and separate with all the expression I can garner within the hour I spend with you. Pets are very welcome to join in also. You will have one job throughout your session - interact with your family and keep the connection up. Holding hands, playing with your kids, fixing fly away hairs are all part of the memory. Everything else you can leave up to me.

Sundays are unavailable, Saturdays are very limited, week nights are more available.

Session day! Just relax, enjoy the time with your family and leave the work to me. If you have any special preferences or ideas, I would love to hear about it.
Choose your collection
Around 2 weeks after your session you’ll receive a private online gallery to view your images.
Choose your favorites and visit the shop to purchase your chosen collection along with all the gorgeous wall art and albums.

The session itself is currently on special for $150 (usually $250). All families who have a Session with Bella Arte Photography, will receive a low resolution sneak peek from their session. All high resolution images, collections, prints and wall art are to be purchased separately through the online SHOP. Collections range from $300-$1450.

Bella Arte Photography will provide a selection of images from the session in an online password protected gallery.
Choose your favourite images.
Visit the ONLINE SHOP to purchase a collection. Collections are available with 10, 30 or ALL images.
The purchased images will be edited, printed, packaged and delivered to your home within 3 weeks from image selection.
Additional prints and wall art will be available for purchase.

Firstly, make sure you feel comfortable!
Avoid wearing colors that will reflect on your children or each other. Neons and colors like red, orange and green if they are too bright will reflect off the skin of others around you. These colors are still great for sessions, however choose a muted version of them. The other thing to consider is that you want your faces, eyes, smiles and connections to all to be the main focus of your images when you look at them later. If you wear tshirts with huge writing or distracting imagery, this will take your focus first before anything else.
Pastels, neutrals and autum colors all work very well. Try to avoid black also as it shows up A LOT of fluff, hair and can often blend too much in shadows.
